Six of the best and top of the tree!

Promotion-chasing Frickley Athletic are flying the flag for the Northern Premier League as Non-League's hot-shots!

Thanks to a 6-0 win away at Belper Town in EVO-STIK League on Saturday, the Blues have the highest goals per game ratio in Steps 1-4 of the National League System's pyramid. Southern League Salisbury City and Kettering are second and third in the goals charts respectively with EVO-STIK League North leaders South Shields fourth and Harrogate Town representing the National League in fifth spot.

Manager Spencer Fearn, pictured applauding the club's away following after thrashing the Nailers at Christchurch Meadow, has seen his free-scoring side net 96 goals in 35 league games so far at an average of 2.74 per game.

While bagging a total of 118 in all competitions since the NPL's historic 50th anniversary season kicked off, the South Elmsall club have also set another club record by scoring in 40 consecutive games since losing to Alvechurch back on Saturday 26 August 2017.

Striker Jacob Hazel has also been rewriting the club's history books after bagging a hat-trick this weekend to keep the fourth-placed Blues in contention for the play-offs and the final automatic promotion spot if they can overhaul Bedworth United and Alvechurch.

A proud Blues spokesman said on Sunday: "One thing for sure is that there is entertainment watching Frickley. In the league we have conceded 54 goals, so there has been a staggering 150 goals in 35 league games at average of 4.28 per game. Leading scorer Jake Hazel reached 41 goals yesterday, equaling a post war club record and club legend Gavin Allott has hit 24 goals so far, both have contributed just over half of the return."
