News has come through tonight that Skelmersdale United manager Tommy Lawson has captured the signature of 26 year old midfielder, James Thomas from Prescot Cables.
Thomas is known for having a cultured left-foot and is expected to bring something different to the Skelmersdale United side. He has previously played for Vauxhall Motors, Caernarfon Town and Warrington, however, as well his England Under 18 appearances he has been international in person, too. He has played down under, for Dandenong Thunder in Melbourne and in the New Zealand pro league in recent seasons.
Tommy Lawson said how delighted he is to sign Thomas saying; “He arrives with a glowing reference from Prescot manager Dave Ridler, who I must thank for the co-operation he has given in signing him, he will be in the squad to play at Woodley on Saturday.”
Thomas, who might well bring some additional fun to the Skelmersdale dressing room as allegedly he is nicknamed “Smiler”, is said to have trained well with the Skelmersdale squad tonight, which according to Tommy Lawson numbered tonight despite what describes as “horrible weather”.
