Smith joins the Azzurri

Frickley Athletic have signed Alistair Smith on loan from Mansfield Town.

Described as a tricky attacking midfielder, he was at Loughborough Dynamo last season, scoring 13 goals in 40 appearances (including their second goal against Frickley in the 2-2 draw in October) and has recently being called up for the England Futsal senior squad after representing the U23's.

Manager Spencer Fearn said: “Alistair was excellent at Loughborough last season and when we became aware of his availability, we moved quickly. He has a fantastic engine, an eye for a goal and will further increase competition for places.

"Our thanks go to Richard Cooper at Mansfield Town for arranging the move. It’s great to be working with them again this season.”

Smith could make his Frickley debut in the trip to Carlton Town on Saturday.
