Presenter Alex Scott and pundit Ashley Williams took the programme to the North East, and amongst other features, interviewed current manager Kevin Phillips.
Focus was also given on the success of grassroots football across the UK.
Scott said: "I love it when we take Football Focus on the road because you can tell how passionate the fans are and what the club means to fans and you get that energy and buzz.
"I love hearing the stories and meeting people like the kit man George, to the guys playing the drums.
"This is what it's all about. This is why we need to be celebrating and spending time with non-league football to promote such atmospheres and what it does for its communities."
A season high home attendance of 2,676 watched South Shields beat Stafford Rangers 2-0 to maintain their title push.
