Sporting success for Rushall

Rushall Olympic recently hosted another of their popular Sportsman’s Evenings at their Dales Lane ground.

A packed club enjoyed a memorable evening with guest speaker, Jim Walker, a former player at Derby County under iconic manager, Brian Clough, Physio at Aston Villa working with managers such as Ron Atkinson and players such as the legendary Paul McGrath and also Assistant Manager at Walsall alongside Paul Merson.

Comedy was provided by top comedian, Jed Stone, and also in attendance on the top table were the Midlands’ favourite boxing promoter, Ron Gray and his son and MC for the evening, Steve Gray.

Nick Allen, Vice-Chairman of the Pics was delighted with the success of the event, ‘We enjoyed another brilliant Sportsman’s Evening at Rushall Olympic’.

'We have had so much positive feedback about the night and it was great to see so many returning faces including our supporters, Pics' manager, Neil Kitching, committee members and local businesses. Our guests enjoyed great entertainment and a delicious three-course meal and the atmosphere in the club was fantastic. Jim Walker has worked alongside some massive names in Midlands' football and it was fascinating to hear his stories about Brian Clough and his unique management style and character and also his well chronicled special relationship with Manchester United, Aston Villa and Republic of Ireland ace, Paul McGrath. RUSHALL Olympic FC have just enjoyed one of their most successful seasons in the history of the club.

A final League position of eighth, at the highest level the club has ever played at, and to reach not one, not even two but three Cup Finals was a fantastic achievement by everyone involved and we are inviting you to enjoy an evening of celebration.

The club are pleased to confirm that our Presentation Evening will take place on Friday, May 25th 2012, at Dales Lane, and will begin at 7.30pm.

We are asking people to arrive at 7.00pm to ensure a prompt start.

There will be three presentations to make and a great night should be in store.

There will also be a buffet and a disco with the entertainment and the bar going on until late in the evening. We are also pleased to announce that admission will be FREE but anyone interested in attending will need to confirm their places so we can confirm numbers for the buffet.
