Stags coming to town for festival!

The EVO-STIK NPL First Division South's Millers are hosting the Stags in their first pre-season friendly on Saturday 9 July with the festival kicking off the day before on Friday from 5pm at Stoke Lane.

Carlton Town chairman Mick Garton reckons securing the League Two outfit for a 4pm kick-off is a major coup for the club and the perfect boost to what promises to be a cracking weekend for fans and the local community with their now annual day out at Southwell Races rounding it off on Sunday 10 July.

The outing for their fans, players, officials and sponsors is being sponsored again by Nottingham City Transport and Garton said: "We are delighted and looking forward to welcoming them to Stoke Lane. We have worked very closely with Mansfield this season on loan deals for mutual benefit and we are delighted that Carlton and Mansfield fans can attend a game, hopefully in superb sunshine, and try out a cracking range of real ale on our sun soaked terraces while enjoying some football in the process."

Carlton manager Wayne Scott added: “A trust has been developed with Mansfield that we will look to build on for the 2016-2017 campaign and it will be the perfect fixture to start our preparation for the new season.”
