Stalwart's sudden death shocks club

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Stamford AFC have paid tribute to their vice president and former secretary Jeremy Biggs after his sudden death.

Shocked and saddened Daniels officials paid tribute to their club stalwart, pictured, after learning of his death on Friday at the age of 55. A retired accountant who cared for his elderly father, he is thought to have passed away at home on Wednesday.

The football fanatic and administrator at the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South club, pictured, was said to have an "unchallenged knowledge of the game" by fellow officials and was also the registrations director and press secretary for the United Counties League.

In a statement on the club's website, Stamford's current secretary Phil Bee sent the EVO-STIK First Division South club's condolences to his family and friends on behalf of everybody at the Zeeco Stadium.

He said: "Our thoughts are with his elderly father and friends. It is desperately sad news. He always offered me great support after he gave up the secretarial role and has constantly been a great fall-back if I have needed help or advice. This news is a real blow to us all."
