Stamford striker snubs offers to stay with Daniels

Stamford striker Jack Duffy has turned down offers from three clubs to remain with the club.

Ilkeston Town, Kettering Town and NPL Premier Division side Basford United had made an offer for Duffy, who has scored 12 goals this season.

Daniels boss Graham Drury said: “I’m over the moon that Jack Duffy will be stopping with us, for Jack to agree this is the best place for himself and to turn down a massive offer from Ilkeston plus also turning down clubs like Kettering and Basford is a big coup for our club.

“Jack knows that Stamford run the club as professional as possible and we support our players on and off the pitch the best we can.

“I have grown so fond of Jack not only as a player but even more so as a person. Jack found it hard work to get in the side at first but his hard work on the pitch and away from football is all credit to himself and now his top goal scorer and really enjoying his football.

“Loyalty means everything to me as a manager and with the likes of Morgan Cos, T and Duffy all turning down moves shows we are doing the right things by the players.

“I have a special bunch of lads which makes my job enjoyable so a big thank you to all the lads from me.”

Stamford are currently fifth in the NPL Midlands Division, with 12 wins from 21 games.
