The 19-year-old will be playing at The Brewery Field in the EVO-STIK NPL's Premier Division for the next month after signing for manager Jason Ainsley on Friday night in time for Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Buxton.
Ainsley told the club's fans he is delighted to give the Sunderland-born forward, his second loan signing of the season following the arrival of Gateshead midfielder Thomas White in January, his chance to play regularly and score goals.
Ainsley said: “Jake is a talented young lad who is bright and alert around penalty area with good touch and control. We've watched a lot of the reserve games and Hartlepool were reluctant to let him out at the time, but fortunately things have changed. Jake will add good competition to our squad in the busy schedule coming up.”
The Football league youngster joined Pools at the start of this season from Chesterfield but is yet to feature in League Two, having been restricted to only three first team appearances in cups this season and one start.
Orrell said: “I’m looking forward to it and hopefully I can get some games under my belt. I want to be playing some competitive football and I know that will be better for me so I want to go to Spennymoor and show everyone what I can do."
He added:“I know that the people at Pools will be keeping an eye on my progress while I am there so I just want to use this as an opportunity to impress - hopefully that helps me and it helps Spennymoor.”
