Mickleover hitman joins Chasetown

ANOTHER new face has joined the Chasetown ranks with the signing of attacker Alex Steadman from Mickleover Sports.

Manager Charlie Blakemore has been a long term admirer of the 24-year old wide man. Steadman has led the goalscoring charts for the last two seasons at Mickleover scoring 19 goals last season. His previous clubs include Long Eaton United and Belper Town.

Blakemore commented: "I tried to sign Alex three years ago after he played against us in a friendly for Ilkeston Town. He is quick, hard working and scores goals. He scored 19 goals last season from a wide left position and this is an area I wanted to strengthen. He is a great signing for us as we now have excellent attacking options in the squad."

Steadman joins fellow new signings Darren Stride and Jake Sedgemore in what is looking like a very strong squad for the 2011-12 Evo-Stik League season.
