The 19-year-old England U19 keeper and reigning Wanderers 'Young Player of the Year' has joined promotion-chasing Frickley Athletic until the end of the season on loan and is expected to make his Northern Premier League debut against Lincoln United at the Big Fellas Stadium on Saturday.
Like Blues boss Spencer Fearn, the rest of the NPL's managers only have until Thursday 22 March to roll the dice in the transfer market for the last time during the competition's historic 50th anniversary 2017-18 season.
Fearn was delighted to sign one of the hottest goalkeeping prospects in the country, telling the club's website on Friday: “In Jake we have another outstanding goalkeeper and we are extremely thankful to Phil Parkinson at Bolton Wanderers for allowing the move to get Jake more first team experience. It’s fantastic news for our club."
Look out at lunchtime for the penultimate weekly club-by-club list of confirmed player movements by the EVO-STIK League's 68 clubs over the last seven days.
