Tasty New Year clash for Park Avenue

Bradford Park Avenue update, by Lewis Sale

A point gained at Rushall Olympic has set up a tantalising clash for Bradford (Park Avenue), as they face FC United of Manchester at the Horsfall Stadium on Monday 2nd January (Kick off: 3.00pm).

The Boxing Day trip to Dales Lane, allowed John Deacey to give new signing Curtis Bernard his first start after his switch from Scarborough Athletic in place of suspended captain Rob O'Brien.

The 31 year old striker struck the framework during the game, but Avenue came away from the game, they dominated, with only a point, despite good attempts from Nicky Boshell, Richard Marshall and Aiden Savory.

Nevertheless, Bradford will be looking to seek revenge against FC United of Manchester in the New Year. It was the Lancashire based outfit who defeated Avenue 2-0 in last year's playoff tie to progress into the final. The game has been confirmed, after discussions with the local authorities, as pay on the gate with the kick off at the traditional time of 3pm.

The Avenue are hoping to see a large number of fans come through the turnstiles to create a fine atmosphere within the Horsfall Stadium for one of the highlights of the Evostik Northern Premier Division calendar. Also, Bradford (Park Avenue) have kindly agreed to allow for donations to FCUM's proposed new community stadium to be collected after the game outside the ground.

Furthermore, Bradford will be on the road on the 7th January, to face another promotion chasing team; Hednesford Town. As the league ladder is beginning to take shape, Marine were the only team to win in the Top Six, jumping above Avenue into the final playoff spot during the Boxing Day fixtures.

Bradford (Park Avenue) would like to welcome all people to the Horsfall Stadium to enjoy, what promises to be a fantastic game against FC United of Manchester. The Avenue's ticket price structure for all home games and the forthcoming tie against FCUM is:

Adult - £9.00
Senior Citizen - £6.00
Under 16 - £2.00
Students - £6.00 on production of a current NUS card.
Armed forces personnel - free on production of warrant card.
