Thomas departs Grantham

Grantham have announced the departure of manager Richard Thomas following Saturday’s defeat at home to Workington.

Thomas, who only took charge in October following the departure of Ian Culverhouse, is leaving to take up a position in the professional game.

Club chairman, Nigel Wedgewood, said: “Richard has been the ultimate professional and offered his services on a short-term basis when we had an urgent need for support. I’ve no doubt his career will continue to excel and on behalf of the football club wish him every success in the future.”

Thomas was previously assistant manager at Notts County, and the club also noted his help in restructuring off-field matters at the club.
