The EVO-STIK League Premier Division club mourned the death of a "loyal supporter and volunteer" in a statement on Friday announcing details of the Brig committee member's funeral and a celebration of his life with his family and friends afterwards at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium.
Brig said: "It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Brig committee member and supporter Tom Grant after a long illness.Tom was a familiar face at Brig following the club both home and away, always smiling, even if things weren't going well on the pitch.
"In addition to following the team he spent much of his spare time helping out at the club and spent many years as 'grounds maintenance supremo' doing odd jobs around Irongate. Tom and his wife Janet also actively supported the club's social events and were key members of the team who have organised the club's beer festivals.
"Everyone connected with Bamber Bridge FC would like to extend their condolences to Tom's wife Janet, their children John and Louise, and all their families at this very sad time. R.I.P Tom."
Bamber Bridge secretary George Halliwell also paid a warm tribute to his friend and fellow official who passed away aged 69. "This is a very sad time at Bamber Bridge Football Club," said the club secretary.
"Tom was a great servant to the club and very much a well respected man and a true friend and gentleman. Tom will be missed by all who had the privilege to meet him. RIP TOM."
