Tribute to Bucks centurion Ravenhill

Martin McIntosh has paid tribute to Ricky Ravenhill after the midfielder racked up a hundred appearances for the EVO-STIK League's Bucks.

The Buxton boss saluted the 36-year-old former Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers, Grimsby Town, Darlington, Notts County, Bradford City, Northampton Town and Mansfield Town veteran after he reached the milestone during Tuesday night's 2-1 victory over Warrington Town in the EVO-STIK League Premier.

Striker Liam Hardy notched up his 85th goal to open the scoring at Silverlands and ensure one of football's longest serving players with more than 450 professional appearances celebrated becoming a Bucks centurion with a win.

Ravenhill, pictured in action for Northampton Town, signed for the Bucks in the summer of 2015 and was hailed by McIntosh as he prepared his side for the arrival of EVO-STIK League South promotion-chasing Cleethorpes Town in the Buildbase FA Trophy on Saturday.

McIntosh told the Derbyshire Times: "He was fantastic again last night. He's a joy to work with because you always know what you're going to get from him. You're going to get 100 per cent every week, whether it's training or it's matches, he's just that type of character and we're lucky to have him. He's a great leader, although Greg's our captain, Rav's our other captain we've got on the field."

The EVO-STIK NPL Show's host Ben Hughes and the weekly podcast's guests were impressed with the fare on offer at Silverlands in midweek, on and off the field. After attending the game to record segments for this weekend's show, @NPLShow tweeted: "Big thank you to our hosts @Buxton_FC last night, pie chips & peas, and some proper good goals, what's not to like."
