Trio join Yellows ahead of league opener

Warrington Town have announced the signings of Midfielder Scott Brown, forward Iyrwah Gooden and defender James Baillie.

Brown, 35, returns to Cantilever Park on a season-long loan from EFL League Two side Harrogate Town after making 12 appearances during a loan spell last season, scoring twice in the draw against Grantham Town.

He has previously played more than 300 games in the Football League for the likes of Bristol City, Cheltenham Town, Grimsby Town and Accrington Stanley.

Warrington-born right-back Baillie has been on trial with the club during pre-season, and featured in a handful of the friendly games.

The 24-year-old came through the ranks at Crewe Alexandra, making 16 appearances for the first team, before moving on to Curzon Ashton.

Completing the trio is former Mansfield Town forward Iyrwah Gooden.

Gooden, 20, spent last season with Ramsbottom United after a successful loan spell the previous season, scoring eight goals in 29 games.

All three go in to contention for selection for the opening game of the Northern Premier League season, away at Basford United.
