Trio through the door at Colne

Colne have announced the signings of Ezio Santist, Matty Kardacz and Adam Mayer.

Santist, who played full time at Serie D side Nuova Florida Calcio, turned down a new contract at the Italian club to take up a new opportunity at Colne.

The midfielder has previously featured for Accrington Stanley, Bury FC and Halifax Town.

Bolstering manager Phil Brown’s defensive options is central defender Matty Kardacz.

Kardacz, 19, joins the Reds from Accrington Stanley after joining them at the age of 9.

The Polish-born defender will combine his time at Colne whilst studying physiotherapy.

Joining the pair at Holt House is winger Adam Mayer, who links up with Colne on an initial 28-day loan from Morecambe.

Mayer, 19, recently signed a professional contract with the Shrimps following the conclusion of his scholarship programme.

Manager Phil Brown has been impressed with the trio in their pre-season outings and is excited to see how the team operates during the new season.

“I’m delighted to get these lads over the line," he said. It’s been a very busy few weeks both with assessing the current squad whilst ensuring our recruitment was the best it can be.

“All three have impressed throughout pre pre-season and I’m delighted to get them secured.

“I feel we’ve built a squad that can now compete at this level and first and foremost but pride back into the badge.”
