By David Watters

Spennymoor Town consolidated third place in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division North table after a 5-0 drubbing of struggling Droylsden at the Brewery Field on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Nathan Fisher gave Town a 13th minute lead that he doubled on the half-hour mark. Liam Henderson eventually added a third for the hosts on 67 minutes and then Joe Tait made it 4-0 just seven minutes later. Henderson netted his second to make it a nap hand for Town with five minutes remaining.

Glossop North End moved up to fourth after a 3-0 win at Parkside against Kendal Town.

David Young put the Hillians in front after 24 minutes. However, it wasn`t until the hour-mark that top marksman Jamie Rainford gave Glossop some breathing space with a second. Martyn Andrews made sure with a third 12 minutes from time.

Burscough got their play-off challenge back on track whilst severely denting Farsley Celtic`s own hopes after a 3-0 success at Throstle Nest.

Will Smart put the Linnets ahead after 34 minutes and then eight minutes before the break Will Jones doubled the visitors' advantage. Nick Ryan made sure with a third after 78 minutes.

Clitheroe are now only four points adrift of the top five after a 6-1 demolition of fourth-bottom Radcliffe Borough at Stainton Park.

Sefton Gonzales got the ball rolling for the Blues with a 10th minute opener. Scott Harries added a second on 39 minutes and then right on half-time Brandon Barksi made it 3-0.

Seven minutes after the interval, Gonzales added his second to make it game over and a minute later Dan Brady made it a nap hand. Michael Hampson added a sixth 10 minutes from time – three minutes before a consolation effort from Richard Smith.

Second-bottom Harrogate Railway Athletic beat bottom-markers New Mills 3-0 at Church Lane.

New loan signing Amar Purewal bagged a brace for Rail after 18 and 36 minutes, with Chris Ovington making it 3-0 right on half-time.

Mid-table sides Bamber Bridge and Prescot Cables cancelled each other out in a 1-1 draw at Irongate where Curtis Thompson`s early seventh minute opener for Cables was levelled by Josh Nicholson on 22 minutes.
