And a crowd of 446 at the Brewery Field saw Spennymoor Town narrow the gap on second-placed Northwich Victoria to six points following a 2-0 win.
Crucially, Craig Gott gave Moors the lead right on the stroke of half-time. And they confirmed victory just shy of the hour-mark when Liam Henderson added a second.
Farsley Celtic could have put pressure on the top five had they managed a win at Parkside against Kendal Town.
However, Neil Parsley`s side had to make do with just one point to leave them five points adrift of the play-off places. Lewis Nightingale gave the visitors a 21st minute lead but they weren`t able to capitalise and Leon Gierke pulled the Mintcakes back on level terms with 19 minutes left to play.
The surprise of the night though came at Dimple Wells where Ossett Albion were looking to move into the top five with victory against fourth-bottom and Radcliffe Borough.
However, Albion suffered back-to-back defeats to threaten their play-off challenge. Veteran striker Jody Banim gave Boro a 10th minute lead and another experienced hand, Sam McMahon added a second three minutes into the second half.
