Shaw Lane AFC travelled to Coles Lane to take on a Romulus side who had lost their previous five matches, while Witton Albion hosted play-off hopefuls Leek Town at Wincham Park.
And both won, so it`s as you were at the top, with Shaw Lane holding a nine-point lead and Albion still having two games in hand.
Romulus had a great start when they were in front after just 13 seconds through Liam Hailey. Kieran Lugsden sent the visitors into the break all-square with an equaliser, only for Jordan Francis to restore Roms` lead on the hour-mark.
Fifteen minutes from time, Alex Byrne levelled once more and then Shaw Lane`s most recent recruit, Godwin Abadaki, popped up with the winner five minutes from the end.
Rob Hopley had Witton ahead after 15 minutes and less than a minute later, Will Jones made it 2-0. Jones again after 21 minutes and Paul Williams after 37 minutes, had the Cheshire side 4-0 ahead before Rob Stevenson reduced the deficit just before half-time.
Darren Chadwick`s penalty on 67 minutes took Leek to within two goals of their hosts but Karl Noon made it a nap hand for Albion with 13 minutes to go.
Elsewhere, an own goal in first half stoppage time was enough to give Carlton Town a 1-0 home win against Stocksbridge Park Steels, Harrison Biggins the unfortunate Steel in diverting Danny Gordon’s cross past David Reay in the Stocksbridge goal.
Second-bottom Loughborough Dynamo suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Stamford AFC, for whom Jack Duffy scored the only goal 20 minutes from time, while Tom Manship`s 53rd minute spot-kick saw Gresley FC to a Moat win over Chasetown.
