Two new arrivals for Runcorn Linnets

Runcorn Linnets have announced the signing of forward Kenny Brown and teenage midfielder Che Trapasso.

Brown, 24, joins the club upon his return from the USA, where he combined his football with academic studies.

He was formerly with Prescot Cables, Chester and Crewe in his younger days, and also boasts time in the academies of both Liverpool and Everton.

During his time in the US, he featured for Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, and then to A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

In his final year in America, Brown scored 10 goals in 19 games and was subsequently crowned the Lone Star Conference's Forward of the Year.

Also agreeing terms with Billy Paynter's side ahead of the new season is former Port Vale youngster Trapasso, who featured alongside brother Alessandro for their U18s side last season.

He played a key role in the club's impressive run in the FA Youth Cup, as they reached the fourth round of the competition for the first time in a decade.

The pair come straight into contention ahead of the club's Pitching In NPL West Division opener at home to Chasetown on Saturday.
