Two vital media posts need filling

Nantwich Town are looking to fill two vital media posts in their backroom team for the 2017-18 EVO-STIK Northern Premier League season.

The Dabbers are advertising for a new press officer and programme editor with potential candidates being urged to contact officials at the EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division club's Weaver Stadium, pictured, as soon as possible.

After helping a number of former graduates go on to win full-time roles in the professional game, the Dabbers say their press officer post is an ideal stepping stone for students currently studying for degrees in media and journalism.

A change in personal circumstances is forcing existing press officer Jack Jones to give up the role that includes running the club's social media accounts as well as penning articles for the local and national press and liaising with the media.

Jones said: "I have only been the press officer for a year, but I have enjoyed every minute of my time at the club. They have made me feel welcome since the moment I arrived and I am extremely disappointed to be leaving at this stage.

"I hope I am leaving the media department in a strong position and we are searching for a suitable candidate to carry on the work done last season. I would recommend this role to anyone looking for valuable experience in football reporting and wanting relevant experience which would look good on a CV.”

A change in circumstances has also forced the Cheshire club to look for a successor to Steve Sharman, the outgoing editor of The Dabber, the club's matchday magazine. Proficiency using software such as InDesign or QuarkXPress to design the programme to a professional standard is a key requirement for potential candidates.
