Waddecar honoured for reaching 400 Brig appearances

Alistair Waddecar has been made an honorary life member of Bamber Bridge FC in recognition of making over 400 appearances for the club.

At a presentation in the clubhouse after Saturday's 2-2 draw against Nantwich, in which he scored both Brig goals, Waddecar was presented with honorary life membership of the club by Chairman Fran Doyle.

As part of the celebration, he was also presented with a photo book documenting his Brig career to date.

The 28 year old winger joined Brig in the summer of 2010, and made his first full league appearance at Irongate against Cammel Laird on September 4 in the Evo-Stik League First Division North.

His 400th appearance came away at Scarborough Athletic on October 13 this year.

In the summer, he was named number 11 in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League’s top 50 players of all time as part of the league’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Waddecar is only the second player to reach 400 appearances for the club, with the record of more than 450 currently held by Dave Leaver.
