The Leicestershire visitors began the game at Wincham Park bottom of the pile in EVO-STIK NPL First Division South but against a Northwich outfit only able to name 12 players they swapped places with their hosts and are now just a point behind Rugby, who do possess a game in hand.
It was a second successive win for Liughborough against their immediate adversaries as they beat Rugby 1-0 last weekend. They took the lead after 34 minutes when Karl Demidh side-footed home. However, two minutes before half-time, the home side were back on level terms with a powerful header from Yaw Gyimah.
It was nip and tuck until the 69th minute when Loughborough took total command of the game after a cross from sub Jack Bewley was turned into his own net by Adam Lawrence. Three minutes later and it and was 3-1 when a long ball out of defence eluded everyone apart Ashley Hodgkinson.
A third goal in five minutes completely killed the game off when Hodginson scored with a neat finish and he completed his hat-trick seven minutes from time when he forced home a loose ball.
