West Round-up: Linnets move clear at the top

Radcliffe were held to a 1-1 home draw by Colne, whose Richard Taylor put them in front after 21 minutes – Elliot Rokka equalised 8 minutes after half-time.

Atherton Colls though went down to a surprise 2-1 home defeat to Market Drayton Town, whose Simon Gregory broke the deadlock on the hour-mark.

Jordan Cover equalised 7 minutes later, but it was Will Wells who scored next 5 minutes from time to win it for the Shropshire side.

Trafford moved up to fifth after a 2-1 win at Shawbridge against Clitheroe.

James Boyd gave the home side the lead right on half-time.

Aaron Burns replied 7 minutes into the second half and then Ross Davidson won it for the visitors in the 86th minute.

The bottom two lost again – both to single goals.

Skelmersdale United remain bottom after losing at home to Widnes, for whom Jack Dunn scored after 34 minutes.

Glossop North End lost to a 55th minute effort for Newcastle Town at the Lyme Valley Stadium.

Not far away, Leek Town were comfortable 4-0 Harrison Park winners over a Prescot Cables side who they overtook into sixth.

Rob Stevenson after 18 minutes was the only first half goal, but Jordan Johnson, a Darren Chadwick penalty and a second for Stevenson in the second period wrapped up Leek's victory.

George Cater bagged a brace for Chasetown and it was enough to lift them off the bottom on goal difference as they shared a 2-2 draw at Ramsbottom United, for whom Luke Thompson and a Jerome Wright were on target.
