Wilson makes Gainsborough return

Gainsborough Trinity have re-signed forward Anthony Wilson from EVO-STIK League East Division side Frickley Athletic.

Wilson, 31, originally signed for the Holy Blues back in November 2015, and is an experienced campaigner having played for Alfreton Town, Barrow, North Ferriby United and Buxton.

Interim manager, Liam King, said: “Ant gives us a presence up top, if needed, and is a handful for opposition teams to play against.

“He’s a great asset for the team to have as he brings others into play with ability to hold the ball up.

“He always chips in with a few goals also. He’s a great addition to the squad and gives us a different option.”

Meanwhile, Max Watters has returned to parent club Doncaster Rovers after his one month loan deal came to an end.

Also leaving the club is right-back Jamie Ture, who has found opportunities limited this season.
