Salford City's Jameel Ible has signed for League Two York City until the end of the campaign.

The former Stockport County defender, pictured, joined the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Ammies in the summer after impressing in a pre-season friendly against them.

Ible was a regular in former manager Darren Sheridan's Evo-Stik NPL First Division North side until the Minstermen moved on Wednesday for his signature.

Ible signed a professional contract until the end of the campaign, leaving new Ammies caretaker manager Andy Heald without his services for his first game in charge on Saturday when Moor Lane hosts Harrogate Railway Athletic. Sheridan resigned at the weekend following a budget review.

Salford hope Ible makes the most of his chance at Bootham Crescent. A club spokesman said: "Salford City wish Jameel the best of luck at his new club and hope he enjoys a long and successful professional career."
