2024/25 Players award winners crowned at Blackpool

The star players of the 2024/25 season were celebrated at the NPL’s annual awards dinner at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool at the weekend.
The Player of the Season and Golden Boot winner from each of the four divisions were presented with their trophies, while the NPL Rising Star was also crowned.
Golden Boot - East Division

The first man on stage was Jake Petitjean, who finished as top scorer in the NPL East Division with 22 goals, securing the Golden Boot in the final week of the season. He was presented with the award by Frank Bell, chairman of Consett FC.
Golden Boot - Midlands Division

The top scorer in the Midlands with 30 goals was Corby Town’s Fletcher Toll, a feat that has seen him secure a move to National League North side King’s Lynn Town for next season. He led the Golden Boot charts since the start of the season and registered three hat-tricks in the campaign.
Golden Boot - West Division

Another man heading to National League North for next season is the Golden Boot winner in the NPL West, Rio Clegg. The Radcliffe-bound man won a four-player race for the title, scoring 20 goals to continue his rise in the game - just three years ago, he was playing at Manchester League level.
Golden Boot - Premier Division

Macclesfield’s Danny Elliott netted 41 times in all competitions on his way to securing the Golden Boot, with 35 of those coming in the Premier Division. He is the first winner to score 35 goals or more since Rory Patterson for FC United. His award was collected by team-mate Paul Dawson.
Goal of the Season

Voted for by a panel of NPL managers, the Goal of the Season was awarded to Worcester City’s Kyle Belmonte, for a strike from inside his own half against Sporting Khalsa. Runner-up was Quorn’s Courey Grantham, and Stockton Town’s Stephen Thompson finished third.
NPL Rising Star

The winner of the best young player across the NPL was Nantwich Town’s Kai Evans, with his award collected on his behalf by Paul Goodwin of Prescot Cables.
Player of the Season - East Division

The best player in the NPL East this season was Josh Walker, who helped Cleethorpes Town to the league title and promotion to Step 3 for the very first time. Awarded collected on his behalf by a club representative.
Player of the Season - Midlands Division

Midfielder Liam Loughlan of Long Eaton United scooped up the award in the Midlands Division, having earlier in his career won the EFL Trophy with former NPL club Salford City.
Player of the Season - West Division

The award for Widnes’ Sean Miller came as a surprise to the player himself, as his club had simply asked him to come along to collect their league trophy. He swept the board at his own club’s awards and earns his second promotion in the NPL, having been part of the Altrincham team that won the NPL in 2017/18.
Player of the Season - Premier Division

Danny Elliott of Macclesfield secured his second trophy of the night, and was ranked by Wyscout as the highest ranked player in the NPL in ‘Moneyball’ (Staticstical records such as XG, Won duels etc) terms based on their analysis of all clubs and players. He was also named Supporters’ Player of the Season. Award collected by Robbie Savage.
