AFC Rushden & Diamonds manager leaves by mutual consent

AFC Rushden & Diamonds have announced the departure of manager Michael Harriman.
Harriman, who first took charge in October 2023, has left the club by mutual consent after guiding them to a 14th-placed finish in the NPL Midlands Division during his only full season in charge.
Previously a player at the club, he stepped up as interim first team boss following the departure of Chris Nunn.
Less than two weeks later, he was appointed on a permanent basis, with chairman Rod Usher admitting at the time that those involved in the recruitment process were "blown away" by Harriman's passion, vision and philosophy.
Despite finishing in the relegation zone during the 2023/24 campaign, Diamonds were handed a reprieve after the demise of other clubs at Step 4.
And despite an improving showing last season, it has been confirmed that Harriman will leave the club.
A club statement read: "We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Michael for his efforts and commitment during his time at the club.
"Michael has conducted himself with professionalism and integrity throughout his tenure, and everyone at Diamonds wishes him every success in the future.
"The club will begin the process of appointing a new first team manager immediately, and further updates will be provided in due course."
News of Harriman's departure comes just days after several members of the Diamonds first team squad announced that they would not be returning next season.
Among the players leaving are last season's top appearance-maker Calvin Green, and Jamal Adams who, with 12 goals, scored twice as many times as any other player at the club last term.
