Anthony Johnson appointed Bury boss

Bury have announced the appointment of Anthony Johnson as their new manager with immediate effect.
Johnson joins a Shakers side currently pushing for promotion in the NPL West Division. At the time of his appointment, they sit two points off top spot with a game in hand on current leaders Lower Breck.
Bury have described the appointment of former Radcliffe joint-manager Johnson as a "statement of intent" as the club looks to "build with purpose, ambition, and pride in the badge".
Johnson, alongside Anthony Morley, took over Radcliffe in May 2024.
In their first season at the helm, the club won the Northern Premier League title, securing promotion to the National League North for the first time in their history.
They went on to ensure the club's survival last term, achieving the objective of staying in the division with two games to spare.
Johnson will be assisted by Tim Lees, who has acted as interim manager in recent weeks and guided the club to an impressive nine-game unbeaten run during his time at the helm.
As joint-managers, Johnson and Morley recently surpassed 300 games in the National League North, during which time they have enjoyed a title win and three play-off finishes during their time at four different clubs.
