Bradford (Park Avenue) bolstered by arrival of ex-Football League defender

Bradford (Park Avenue) have announced the signing of Luke Hendrie following his departure from Morecambe.
Hendrie, 31, joins the NPL East Division outfit with 264 professional appearances under his belt.
The versatile defender, who began his career at Bradford City before joining Manchester United as a teenager, has featured for the likes of Burnley, Shrewsbury Town, Grimsby Town and Hartlepool United.
He made the move to Morecambe ahead of their League Two campaign in July 2024 and finished the campaign as their Player of the Season.
Hendrie went on to make 40 appearances for the Shrimps and was one of the few players who remained at the club during their tumultuous summer period.
His last appearance for the club came in a 4-0 defeat away at Aldershot Town over the August Bank Holiday.
Speaking about his move to the club, Hendrie said: "I’m really excited to be signing, after a fantastic start to the season.
“This fits in perfectly with my next chapter, and I’ve had some really good conversations with the manager. I’m looking forward to getting going.”
Manager Craig Elliott said: "I am delighted we have managed to get this signing over the line.
“Luke’s pedigree speaks for itself. Only last season, he was Player of the Season in League Two with Morecambe. He will bring great quality and experience, as well as covering three or four positions within the team.”
Hendrie will go into contention to make his debut for the club in their upcoming FA Trophy first qualifying round clash at home to Redcar Athletic on Saturday.
