Striker Ryan Brooke became Runcorn Linnets’ all time leading goalscorer at the weekend.
Brooke fired a brace of goals as the Linnets came from 2-0 down to beat Stalybridge Celtic 3-2, to keep their hopes of reaching the NPL West Division play-offs alive.
He has now scored 77 goals in 137 appearances for the club, overtaking Mark Houghton’s record.
Brooke told Linnets TV: “I’m very proud. It is something that’s been in the background for some time now but the three points is much more important to me.
“We had to dig deep today, we gave ourselves a mountain to climb.
“The fans sucked the ball in the net today. They were really loud it was unbelievable to see. It does really give you a boost and long may it continue.”
