Bury search for new manager as McNabb moves upstairs
Bury are looking for a new manager after a restructure which sees Dave McNabb become the club’s head of football operations.
McNabb was appointed Bury’s 44th permanent manager in September 2023 and led the Shakers to promotion to the NPL West Division last season as North West Counties League champions.
They are currently fourth in the league table as they chase promotion to Step 3, six points behind leaders Lower Breck having won three of their last 10 matches.
In his new role, McNabb will become the key link between the FSSB board and football operations as part of the club’s ongoing strategy to sustain football at the highest possible level.
John Woodhead, chair of the FSSB Board, said: “Dave has been instrumental in stabilising and progressing the football side of the club.
"Moving him into the role of head of football operations allows us to benefit from his vast experience in football and business, in what we anticipate will be at no additional cost to the club, and we’re delighted he’s chosen to continue this journey with us."
Tim Lees will take charge on an interim basis for this Saturday’s league game against Shifnal Town, with McNabb now working with the board to find a new first team manager.
A job advert was published by Bury seeking applications, with a deadline of 12pm on Sunday 7 December.
Applications should be made in writing, including a CV and cover letter, and sent to Gareth Castick via email: [email protected]
