City of Liverpool confirm new first team manager

City of Liverpool have appointed Andy Owens as their new manager.

Owens, 35, has enjoyed a 15-year playing career for sides across the Football League and non-league, including Accrington Stanley, Mansfield Town, Telford United, Marine, and Connah's Quay Nomads.

The former Liverpool and Stoke City academy graduate joined the Purps at the start of the 2024/25 season and has made eight appearances, scoring twice.

The experienced striker has been in charge of the club on an interim basis since Kevin Lynch's departure on Boxing Day but will now take up the position permanently.

Owens will be joined by Simon Willis and Ashley Mulholland as his assistant coaches.

City of Liverpool currently sit at the bottom of the NPL West Division, 16 points adrift of safety, and they will travel to Chasetown on Saturday in the hopes of picking up an important three points.
