D'Mani Mellor signs new Macclesfield deal

Macclesfield have fended off interest to retain exciting forward D'Mani Mellor following the club's promotion to the National League North.
Mellor joined the club from Gateshead at the start of the season and previously featured in the Football League for the likes of Salford City, Wycombe Wanderers, Rochdale and Sutton United.
He has made 39 appearances in all competitions for the Silkmen this season, scoring 19 times.
And with 17 league goals so far, he sits ninth in the Northern Premier League Premier Division's scoring charts - of Macclesfield's title-winning squad, only Danny Elliott (31) has scored more.
Following a standout season at the Leasing.com Stadium, reports in recent weeks had linked Mellor with a move to the Football League next season.
But this new deal, hot on the heels of contract extensions for 10 other members of the club's title-winning squad, will be a major boost for boss Robbie Savage as his side looks to continue their upward trajectory in the league above next season.
Macclesfield's season is far from over, however, as they look to try and break the Northern Premier League record for points during a season.
With four games remaining, Robbie Savage's side are now just seven behind Darlington's tally of 104, set during the 2015/16 season when 46 games were played during the regular season compared to 42.
They visit third-placed Guiseley this weekend before rounding off their season with home games against Ilkeston Town and Whitby Town, either side of a trip to Leek Town.
