Experienced ex-Football League defender joins Bradford (Park Avenue)

Bradford (Park Avenue) have confirmed the signing of full-back Connor Brown.

The 33-year-old makes the move to the Horsfall Community Stadium after a season with Southern League outfit Spalding United.

A Sheffield native, he began his career with Sheffield United, signing a professional contract with his hometown club in 2011, but left the Blades a year later without making an appearance.

Brown subsequently joined then-League One side Oldham Athletic, and went on to feature 89 times over four years at Boundary Park, before joining Guiseley in the National League in 2016.

After a short stint at York City in 2018, he made the move to Cumbria to link up with Barrow, where he helped the Bluebirds to promotion into League Two at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

He departed the club after making 134 appearances, opting to join Buxton at Step 2 in 2024 to work under Craig Elliott, the current boss at Park Avenue, before a short stint at Ilkeston Town ensued.

On the acquisition of Brown, Elliott said: "Another player I have worked with at my previous club, Buxton.

"His experience will be massive for the changing room both on and off the pitch. A natural-born winner and a player defensively strong.

“This is yet another vital signing for us, and I’m really happy to finally get it over the line as I know a few other teams were chasing his signature.”
