FC United of Manchester make Adam Le Fondre decision ahead of new season

Adam Le Fondre has signed a new deal at FC United of Manchester, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2025/26 season.

Le Fondre completed a stunning move to the club last summer and enjoyed a fine first season in the Northern Premier League, finishing the campaign as the club's top scorer with 17 goals in all competitions.

He made 45 appearances in total, and will now look to add to that figure after agreeing terms with Mark Beesley's Reds for a further 12 months.

The 38-year-old has represented a number of clubs throughout his career, making over 400 appearances in the Football League.

He famously helped Reading to promotion to the Premier League in 2011/12 and went on to score 12 goals during his first season with the Royals in the top flight.

Averaging 124 minutes per goal in the Premier League, he is statistically the fourth-most prolific finisher in Premier League history - behind only Thierry Henry, Sergio Aguero and Kelechi Iheanacho.

The experienced forward also enjoyed success in the Australian A-League with Sydney FC, netting 56 goals in 97 appearances and helping the Sky Blues to two A-League titles in as many years.

Next season, he won't be the only Le Fondre plying their trade in the Northern Premier League, with second cousin Kian recently completing a move to NPL West Division side Newcastle Town
