Former Love Island contestant joins Bamber Bridge

Bamber Bridge have announced the signing of forward Jamie Allen.

Allen, 30, becomes Jamie Milligan's fourth summer signing ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 season.

The striker began his career at Fleetwood Town, making his Football League debut in 2013. He featured five times and scored once before departing the Fishermen two years later to sign for Stalybridge Celtic.

After a short spell at Bower Fold, he joined Southport, where he netted 14 times in 68 appearances over a two-year stint at Haig Avenue.

Following the Sandgrounders' relegation at the end of the 2016/17 campaign, Allen signed for National League outfit Dover Athletic, departing after two seasons to link up with FC Halifax Town.

He made 88 appearances and scored on nine occasions at the Shay, leaving the club in 2022 as he was announced as a contestant on the eighth series of ITV's Love Island.

Upon his exit from the Love Island Villa, Allen laced his boots up once more and completed a deal to sign for Telford United, before subsequently joining Curzon Ashton and then, most recently, Workington.

Allen has also featured 14 times on the international stage for Montserrat, following his debut for the Emerald Boys in 2019.

Bamber Bridge have also confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Aidan Dowling.

The 22-year-old former Blackburn Rovers academy shot-stopper was most recently plying his trade at Lancaster City, where he made 14 appearances last season.

During his time at the Rovers, Dowling enjoyed loan spells with Halifax Town and Marine, before spending time in Northern Ireland with Larne FC, and in the Republic of Ireland with Cork City, following his release from the Championship side.
