Gainsborough Trinity FA Cup tie selected for live TV coverage

Gainsborough Trinity's FA Cup tie at home to Accrington Stanley in the first round proper has been selected for live TV coverage.

The tie will take place at 5:15pm on Sunday 2 November and will be available to watch on TNT Sports and discovery+.

The Holy Blues booked their place in the first round proper for the second consecutive season with an impressive 3-1 win at National League Hartlepool United in Tuesday night's fourth qualifying round replay.

Tuesday's result was a familiar one for a Gainsborough side that defeated National League opposition away from home in a fourth qualifying round replay last season.

Boston United were their victims during the 2024/25 campaign, falling to a surprise 4-0 defeat.

During that cup run, Gainsborough made it to the second round proper before falling to League Two Harrogate Town in front of the BBC cameras.

Each of the clubs involved in the ties selected for live television broadcast will receive a £50,000 fee in addition to guaranteed payments from the competition’s prize fund for winning or losing. A full list of TV picks can be found here.

Gainsborough become the second club from the Northern Premier League ranks to see one of their FA Cup fixtures selected for live broadcast this season.

West Division side Runcorn Linnets' victory over Pickering Town in the second qualifying round was shown by the BBC, with Linnets running out 2-0 winners.

Gainsborough are the sole NPL representative in the first round proper.
