Guiseley celebrate success of memorial match fundraiser
A memorial match celebrating the life of devoted Guiseley supporter John Bridson has raised over £4,000, the club have confirmed.
After an entertaining 3-3 draw between the Guiseley AFC Whites and Yellows at Nethermoor last month, the Yellows prevailed 3-1 in a penalty shootout that perfectly captured the emotion of the event.
The game featured a number of former Lions players from years gone by, as well as some of their current squad and even their manager, Ian Richards.
The event follows on from the success of the first John Bridson Memorial Match back in 2024.
The club say that funds raised from the fixture will go towards providing covered areas at the ground for the club’s magazine and 50/50 ticket sellers.
