Guiseley secure services of prolific goalscorer

Guiseley have unveiled their first summer signing ahead of the 2026/27 season in the shape of Cam Wilson.

The 23-year-old striker joined Matlock Town in February 2025, ending his 18-month stay in Derbyshire by becoming the NPL East Division's second-highest goalscorer with 26 goals to his name.

Wilson is a product of Scunthorpe United's academy and rose through the ranks at his hometown club to make his professional debut for the Iron in a 3-1 defeat to Swindon Town in August 2021.

The young forward featured seven more times for Scunthorpe in their last season in League Two, and went on to play a key role in their 2022/23 campaign in the National League with 33 appearances.

During that time, Wilson enjoyed a loan spell with National League North outfit Scarborough Athletic, in which he scored seven goals in 17 games, returning for a brief loan spell in 2024 before signing a permanent deal with the Seadogs on his release from Scunthorpe at the end of the 2023/24 season.

He featured a further 23 times for Scarborough before his move to Matlock.

On the signing of Wilson, Guiseley manager Ian Richards said: "We are excited by the signing of Cam, he is a player with huge quality and the ability to create and score goals.

"On both occasions we watched him live last season, he was the best player on the pitch and was continually making things happen by being brave on the ball and playing forward at every opportunity.

“Within our environment, we believe he is only going to improve and have a positive impact this season.”
