Hallam manager to leave at end of season
Hallam manager Craig Denton has announced he will step down from the role at the end of the season.
The decision will bring to an end his near six-year spell in charge of the club, having first been appointed in May 2020.
During the intervening period, he has taken charge of more than 200 games and led the Countrymen to two promotions, first from the NCEL Division One to the Premier Division, then from the NCEL Premier Division to the Northern Premier League last season.
At the time of the announcement of Denton's departure, Hallam sit 11th in the NPL East Division.
"This has not been an easy decision and certainly not one that has been made lightly," he said in a statement posted to social media.
"It has been incredibly tough, but I feel the time is right. Throughout my time at the club, I have always given 100%, often sacrificing a great deal personally, especially time with my family, who have supported me every step of the way.
"Looking back, the memories we have created together are truly unbelievable.
"Coming up against some huge budgets and big football clubs, we have competed and challenged, and that's all we can ask from the players and everyone connected.
“I leave with immense pride, gratitude and respect for everyone connected to this incredible football club.”
