Jason Blunt appointed new Stocksbridge boss
Stocksbridge Park Steels have appointed Jason Blunt as their new manager.
Blunt replaces Jordan Lemon, who stepped down from the role last month after less than a year in permanent charge.
Stocksbridge say the experienced Blunt, who has previously managed the likes of Dearne & District FC, Doncaster City and AFC Wakefield, will bring "extensive experience within professional football, non-league management and developing players to improve their potential".
He will be assisted by Michael Norbury and Connor Blunt, and the club have confirmed that his first official match in charge will be next Wednesday's home game against Bridlington Town.
A difficult start to the season has seen Stocksbridge win just one of their opening 11 games on their return to Step 4: a run which leaves them second-bottom of the NPL East Division.
"Delighted is an understatement," Blunt said on the appointment.
"Taking charge of Stocksbridge Park Steels, a club with such a proud history, is an opportunity I’m honoured to embrace.
"I’d like to thank the club for their trust. We know there is a big job ahead, and we’re ready to give it everything.
"Having good people around you -people you trust - is vital.
"The league table doesn’t lie. We know where we stand and the work required, but we’ll face that challenge together, with hard work, high standards and everyone pulling in the same direction.
"Our aim is to build a competitive team that works for one another, improves every day and represents this club with pride."
