Joe Ackroyd lands new club after Guiseley exit

Midfielder Joe Ackroyd has joined Bradford (Park Avenue) ahead of next season.
Ackroyd spent last season at Northern Premier League play-off finalists Guiseley, scoring twice in 40 appearances for the Lions.
He also enjoyed a spell on loan at Warrington Town in the National League North but left the club at the end of March having made seven appearances.
The former Buxton man, who was previously a product of the Barnsley academy, will reunite with former Bucks manager Craig Elliott at the NPL East Division side.
News of Ackroyd's signing is a major coup for the West Yorkshire outfit, who finished 10th last season.
In a statement confirming his arrival, Avenue described Ackroyd as a "dynamic midfielder hungry to make his mark".
“I’m delighted, after a lot of hard work, to bring Joe to Bradford (Park Avenue)," Elliott said.
"He’s a young, hungry player who will bring real energy and enthusiasm to the team. He had two very successful loan spells with me in the National League North at Buxton, and I’ve no doubt he’s a player who will continue to improve.
"He already knows my staff and a lot of the squad, so it’s a brilliant signing for us.”
