Leek Town bring in young Blackpool striker

Leek Town have signed forward Taylor Bowen from Football League side Blackpool on a four-week loan.

Bowen, who joined the Tangerines in the summer of 2022 at the age of 16 and linked up with their academy, has been described as a "powerful frontman" with a "keen eye for goal".

He started the 2023/24 season at Workington on a work experience loan but missed much of the campaign after suffering a hamstring tear.

Having returned to action in pre-season, Bowen subsequently spent time at NPL West Division side Runcorn Linnets during the early weeks of the campaign. He made a total of 14 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring five times.

He returned to the Northern Premier League scene at the start of the year, joining Warrington Rylands on loan.

The young forward scored once in seven appearances for the Blues before returning to his parent club at the start of March.

He could go straight into contention to feature for Leek this Saturday when they visit FC United of Manchester.
