Liversedge sign veteran defender Hendrie
Liversedge have completed the signing of experienced defender Luke Hendrie.
The 31-year-old full-back, who can also operate in central defence, has built up an impressive career since making his professional debut for Hartlepool United in October 2015.
With more than 250 professional appearances under his belt, Hendrie brings a wealth of experience to Danny Forrest’s backline.
Trialling at the Sedge in pre-season to regain match fitness, and featuring in a number of games, the former England Under 17 international makes the move to Clayborn from NPL East Division rivals Bradford (Park Avenue).
The versatile defender, who began his career at Bradford City before joining Manchester United as a teenager, has featured for the likes of Burnley, Shrewsbury Town, Grimsby Town and Hartlepool United during his career.
Hendrie - the son of former Barnsley player and manager John Hendrie - made the move to Morecambe ahead of their League Two campaign in July 2024 and finished the campaign as their Player of the Season.
He went on to make 40 appearances for the Shrimps and was one of the few players who remained at the club during their tumultuous summer period.
His last appearance for the club came in August 2025, before his move to Bradford (Park Avenue).
Discussing his arrival at the club, Hendrie said: “I’ve got great respect for the manager, and I’m looking forward to getting going.
“A big thing when you want to go and play for someone is you want to trust them. And I definitely have that with Danny."
