National League North full-back makes Cleethorpes switch

Cleethorpes Town have announced the signing of right-back Kwame Boateng from Chorley.
Boateng, 26, began his career at Bradford City, rising through the ranks at the Bantams before joining Harrogate Town in 2018.
In February 2019, he made the move to Guiseley, who were then competing in the National League North, but was sent out on loan to Farsley Celtic and helped them achieve promotion.
Boateng subsequently joined the Celt Army permanently ahead of the 2019/20 season, going on to feature for Ossett United on a dual-registration basis shortly thereafter.
After short spells at Albion Sports and Goole, the defender made the switch to Cymru Premier outfit The New Saints, featuring 10 times and scoring on one occasion.
In December 2021, Boateng took up an opportunity with Sheffield Wednesday and featured primarily in their Under 23s setup.
After nearly a year at the Owls, he rejoined Guiseley in September, going on to feature 29 times before signing for Alfreton Town the following season, but departed a month later to ply his trade for Grantham Town and then Liversedge.
Boateng returned to Step 2 with Chorley ahead of the 2024/25 season. He joined Matlock Town on loan, but suffered an injury which ruled him out until April.
The full-back will now take up a new start with newly-promoted Cleethorpes Town, and will go into contention to make his debut for the Owls in Saturday's upcoming FA Cup first qualifying round trip to Carlton Town.
