New NPL chairman looks forward
The new Chairman of the Northern Premier League, Martin Thacker, takes up his position from today, Monday.
As confirmed last month, Martin brings a wealth of experience in football administration, governance, business leadership and public service. He was previously a director of the National League.
In a message to clubs this morning, he said: “Thank you for the warm welcome as I commence my appointment as Chairman of the Northern Premier League. I am delighted to take on this role and look forward to serving the League and its member clubs with dedication, integrity and enthusiasm.
“Since the announcement was made, I have attended meetings, held numerous telephone conversations and visited several clubs. It has been heartening to receive so many messages of support, including a large number of emails. The conversations I have had with directors, club volunteers and supporters have been positive, constructive and encouraging. I am in no doubt about the issues that matter most to you. Above all, I want you to know that I am listening to the League community.
“Together, we can continue to build on the League's proud history while embracing the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. I look forward to working with all our clubs, volunteers and stakeholders as we shape the next chapter of the Northern Premier League's success.”
