NPL round-up | Owls and Yellows lead the way as Guiseley comeback stuns Bury
Matchday 4 certainly didn't disappoint in the NPL Premier Division, with no shortage of drama and excitement around the grounds.
Perhaps the most thrilling game of the night came at Nethermoor, where Guiseley overturned a two-goal deficit to defeat Bury and end the shakers' unbeaten start to the season.
Goals inside the opening seven minutes from DJ Pedro and Kai Evans seemingly had Bury well on their way to a third win from four games.
But Aaron Martin's second brace of the season drew the hosts level either side of the half-hour.
Then, with time running out, substitute Jordan Thewlis guided Kyle White's free-kick into the back of the net to snatch victory for Guiseley in the 91st minute.
While Bury saw their unbeaten start come to an end, there were no such problems for Cleethorpes Town and Warrington Town.
The Owls continue to lead the way after Matchday 4 as goals from Marley Wilson and Billy Fewster saw them to a 2-1 victory over Alfreton.
Alfreton equalised on the stroke of half-time through Siyabonga Ligendza from the penalty spot, but it proved to be in vain as Alfreton suffered their second defeat in a row.
As for Warrington Town, they defeated Ilkeston Town 2-1 to record back-to-back wins on the road.
Zayn Sadiq fired them ahead on the stroke of half-time, with Reece Daly's long-range strike into the top corner doubling their advantage before the hour mark.
Anthony Dwyer pulled one back for Ilkeston inside the final 15 minutes, but the Robins, like Alfreton, were beaten for the second time this season.
Gainsborough Trinity sit third in the table after a resounding 4-1 win over Stockton Town compounded the Anchors' difficult start to the season.
There were four different players on the scoresheet for the Holy Blues, who backed up Saturday's impressive 3-0 win at FC United of Manchester. Stockton, meanwhile, remain winless after the opening four games of the season.
Ashton United defeated Whitby Town 2-0 thanks to a pair of goals from James Hardy inside the opening 15 minutes.
Redcar Athletic remain unbeaten following their promotion to Step 3, with an Adam Boyes double helping the Steelmen to a 3-1 victory at home to Lancaster City.
Danny Rowe was also on the scoresheet for Redcar six minutes into the second half, with Lancaster's sole response seeing Sekouba Sanogo draw the Dolly Blues level 10 minutes before half-time.
Elsewhere, Emley sit on the fringes of the top seven after coming from behind to defeat Leek Town 2-1.
Alex Panter's deflected effort had put the home side ahead after 37 minutes, before a stunning equaliser from Aaron Haswell on the stroke of half-time.
It remained that way until 80 minutes on the clock, when Gabby Johnson fired Emley to a big three points on the road.
Tuesday's much-anticipated Greater Manchester clash between Hyde United and FC United of Manchester went the way of the home side, and in the most dramatic of circumstances too.
With the game goalless heading into second-half stoppage time, Taylor McMahon's cross was spilled into the back of the net as Hyde snatched a 1-0 win.
1-0 was also the scoreline at the Quickline Logistics Arena as Warrington Rylands defeated Quorn, courtesy of a first-half header from George Waring.
Tuesday's only other game in the NPL Premier Division saw Bamber Bridge score a stoppage-time equaliser to draw 2-2 at Curzon Ashton.
After Alex Curran and James Butterworth had exchanged first-half goals, it looked like Danny Whitehead had won it for Curzon 15 minutes from time.
But with 91 minutes gone, Archie Lang kept his cool to slot past Aidan Dowling to earn the Brig a share of the spoils.
The only other game of the round between Avro and Workington will take place on Wednesday night.
