Runcorn Linnets forward handed Football League opportunity

Young Runcorn Linnets striker Adam Moseley has completed a move to League One side Wigan Athletic.

Following a successful trial period, the 20-year-old will link up with the Latics' academy.

During his time at Linnets, Moseley scored 20 times in 96 appearances. He also became the first player in the club's history to progress through their junior ranks and go on to sign a senior contract with the club.

His most memorable moment in the yellow-and-green of Linnets came in the final of last season's Cheshire Senior Cup, when he scored a hat-trick to help end the club's long wait for silverware with victory over Stalybridge Celtic.

Having caught the eye, the striker joined the Latics on trial at the start of the 2025/26 Professional Development League campaign.

Moseley went on to net 17 goals in 13 appearances, including several multi-goal performances against Swansea City, Coventry City, Sheffield United, Stoke City and Barnsley.

"From being in the Shed End following the Linnets home and away, to being part of the team for the last three seasons, it has been an absolute privilege," he said.

"Runcorn Linnets is a special place with special people. I want to thank the fans for their incredible support, both at home and away. It truly makes a difference and never goes unnoticed.

"A huge thank you to all the staff, players and volunteers as well. Your belief and support have meant the world to me.

"It’s been an unforgettable journey, and I’ve cherished every moment. I’ve learned a lot, made memories I’ll always carry with me, and been proud to play for this club from minute one."
